Title: Interest in Supercharger Crank Pulley?
Post by: bbarnumboy on December 14, 2011, 07:34:13 PM
I will have my hands on a couple of custom crank pulleys for the m42 in a little while.  I was wondering if this would interest any of you.

What i have is the outer piece of the harmonic balancer, Machined exactly like the stock unit. The modification i made was I added another row for a 6 rib V belt to power my 6 rib pulley on my twinscrew supercharger.

Only thing is the outter 3 rows will be one piece unlike in the picture shown. so the piece in the bottom right will be completely re made with an extra row for a 6 rib belt made. This piece will bolt up to the harmonic balancer as normal, maintaining all stock belt measurements.  This makes that SC project way easier giving the sc it's own belt to run off of.

INFO:  This is not an underdrive pulley. New 6 rib row will be 5 inches diameter. This will allow you to run a big 6 rib belt to keep your supercharger from slipping, while maintaining the Air conditioning unit on your car. The harmonic balancer is still used in this pulley.

this is the idea in the end. to add another row.

Is there any interest in  grabbing the extra few i have coming?   cost would be a few hundred each.  I see this stuff going for 400-600$ for the BMW  Im thinking probably 200$ to cover my costs.

the custom portion containing 3 rows would be a 4 rib V for the ac, a v belt for the power steering, and 6 rib for your Blower.

Of course this bolts to the stock harmonic balancer which contains the crank shaft pickup sprocket, and V belt row for the water pump/Fan.

That's a great offer for the board...and an excellent price!  Free bump for you!

I'll bet that pulley can fit on more than e30's...I just bought a ratty 633CSi and a lot of stuff looks very familiar...

For those interested the Price will be $250

Will more than likely be made of 10-45 carbon Steel  at a tolerance of .0003

This will replace the accessories pulley that bolts onto the harmonic dampener. It will  look similar to this. It will contain a 4 rib row for AC, a V row for PS pump and a 6 rib row for running the supercharger. PS and AC are stock driven, not under or over driven.

Let me know if you are really interested.

would they be able to do a pully where the 6-rib is the only row? I only have the alternator, and I don't plan on using anything else.
