Title: all dash lights and pass brake light went out.

so im driving down the road after work tonight and i look down and everythings good and then i look down again and i have no dash lights and my pass tailights out. i have a chiltons manual but there isnt a diagram for the dash light circuit. can someone point in a direction? id be much appreciative

If this is for an e36, chances are good your taillight harness got chafed at the drivers' rear hinge.

An e30 should have the cluster powered off fuse 12 (7.5 amp) and grounded at the firewall.  Taillights should be fuses 22 & 23 (7.5 amp).

Yea sorry I didn't clarify its an e30 but they went out at the same time. Brake lights work and the bulbs fine so idk if that matters at all but ill check the fuses in the morning and get back with wat I find

Hmmm...the page killed an edit.  Do you have the BMW Electrical Troubleshooting Manual?  If not, make sure you get it:

I use the ETM more than any other repair manual!  It's all broken down by circuit, really helps to isolate the problem.  I even keep a printed copy of both the '90 and '91 e30 ETMs in my car since the '91 is missing a lot of pages.

Thanks man but yea I swapped fuse 23 and all my light came back on including my pass tailight so idk. I'm gonna try and find out why this happend ill keep this thread updated as soon as I find out wat the deal is
