Title: Oil pan removed
Post by: lqbanotxano on September 08, 2011, 10:56:54 PM
Well, the oil pan is down & all the bolts holding thr windage tray were on & tight. The bad news...both motor mounts are broken. Local prices for motor mounts are $58.00 each plus tax BapGeon & 101.00 each plus tax Autozone. I finally bought (2) from Pelican for $27.00 each including free freight. I ended up ordering the full shifter overhaul kit also...total $140.00 total.

Is this a statement or is there a question in there somewhere?

No questions....just recounting my experiences.

This is a question.....
Are any of the Z3 year’s racks, a direct replacement for the E36? The ones after 96-97 are much cheaper from Rack Doctor.

I'd have to look up the thread to be sure, but IIRC the Z3 rack is better...even quicker than the regular e36 one.  But though the cases are identical, the rack is shorter, so at extreme lock the steering angle is shallower & the car won't turn as quickly.

If you want more steering lock, add a few spacers in the steeringrack.

[whoeps thats a for sale tread, not my itentions...blame google ;) .... but you get the idea how to get more lock]
