Sounds too good to be true...

Nope, haven't tried that one yet. Claims seem very optimistic...call me highly skeptical that a chip could add 20HP, 20 lb-ft AND 15% better fuel economy on 91 octane.
The non-existent speed limiter was removed too.
Cheap way to kill a motor, I'd bet.

That's what rose my eyebrows too!
So which one have you tried? MarkD?

I'm still running a stock chip myself. The MarkD is well regarded here from what I've seen. I do have one of his 93 octane chips secondhand though. Once I repair my backup DME & install it, I'll report on my findings.

I bought a chip 2 years ago for my E36 is and I am very pleased with it. It was from a different seller.

This chip specifically??

its likely just a copy of a much better more expensive chip. You are taking money out of good programmers pockets when you buy chips like this. With that said you usually get a good tune but they buy the cheapest PROM's they can find in bulk and some are likely to be bad. My guess is that this is a copy of a mark D chip. Most ECU's have a 125mph speed limiter built in. The fact that the M42 cant reach that speed does not mean that it is not programmed into the DME.

^This, he has had problems for quite a while with somebody stealing his work. Buy the MarkD. I have also *heard* good things about Midnight Performance chips in the UK.
