Title: Valve Cover Oil Separator Gasket
Post by: Carter on August 04, 2011, 09:13:01 PM
Forgive me, but I didn't find any info on this when searching.  I am in the process of rebuilding the M42 and had the valve cover in the parts washer when I found gasket material under the plastic cover deteriorating.  I took the cover off and found this gasket pretty much destroyed.  I searched high and low in ETK and WorldPac but didn't find anywhere that this is available.  I'm sure this has a lot to do with the common M42 oil in intake problems I found when searching for info.

Anyone have luck finding a replacement gasket?

Any other home remedies? I'd like to not throw a breather filter on the end but if that's the fix then so be it!

Hopefully hearing from the machine shop tomorrow about the fate of my head, this could all be a moot point and going the way of an M50 anyway..
