Title: Brake Caliper? Girling? ATE? Either?
Post by: Colo318IS on July 01, 2011, 03:08:21 PM
Hello-

So I need to replace my front brake calipers....does anyone know...do we have girlings or ATE or can either be used?

Thanks so much for your insight.

You can use either, but I believe all 318is came with Girling. I'd suggest just rebuilding them; it's easy and cheap.

Mine has Girling too.  I'd rebuild both...the kits are only like $15 IIRC.

I'd also strongly suggest doing whatever you decide to both calipers at once, especially where the front brakes are concerned.

OP - you can check out Pelicanparts.com or Bluntech.com ... both have rebuild kits for reasonable cost.

Ok, great, thanks so much...I did some research on the rebuild and believe I will go that route...I did double-check mine and found out they are girlings just for the record.  Thanks so much!
