HI Guys
I just bought a Touring 318i swapped with an M42 in France, and I'm considering the Ethanol conversion as it is about half the price of regular gas over here.
Has anyone done this?
I assume I need a chip to modify ignition timing and injector timing as well, but do I absolutely need to change injectors to make up for the additional flow, or increase the pressure in the injecto ramp?
Any info would be useful
Thanks

Running e85 on stock injectors with higher fuel pressure. (because inspection)
would recommend bigger injectors..

So, I would need to instal something like 240-250cc injectors and a new map for the ECU?

I have no idea about the alcohol (though I'd get that chip to advance timing aggressively).
I just wanted to say that I love those touring wagons. One of these days I'll be heading over & shipping one back. US DOT has a 25 year exemption that I'm planning on taking advantage of.

You need 30-40% more fuel when running on e85.
Car will work without new map :)

Imho best way is to buy bigger injectors from turbo car (SAAB 4 cil turbo engine, as I remember they are about 350cc and same size, or audi 5 cil turbo 300cc). Fine tuning could be done with fuel pressure.

Thanks Guys for your input
If I'm not mistaken, the 318is injectors are around 200cc, correct?
So if I would need to get 270-280cc injectors.
Being in France, I'll have to check what cars have those type of injectors.
@Bl0mgren: Can you please elaborate on the fact that I don't need a new mapping? I thought I'd need to modify the ignition a bit

Car will start and you can drive it. If you want engine to run fine and gain hp with good fuel consumption you should consider a remapp of course :)
