Title: will these shocks work?

I just bought a set of Boge front shocks for my 91 318i off of ebay. Turns out the ones i got were for an 1984-85 318, part number 27-079-F. Are these useable?

These won't work....The strut tube on these are only 45mm whereas our cars (and most E30's) are 51mm...
