Title: Help me raise my M42
Post by: E304life on May 13, 2011, 12:54:27 AM
Hey all, So basically my 91 318is is fairly low (not slammed), but I've already gone through two oil pans, and my current one has a couple good scrapes on it. i know you can buy skid plates for these cars, but is there anyway to raise this motor at least a half inch?! Any and all help, would be much appreciated.

I found a skid plate here (http://www.e30motorwerks.com/index/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=68:severe-duty-skid-plates&catid=40:new-parts&Itemid=37), not sure of quality (but it sure sounds good).

You could have a machine shop cut some large thick shims to slide under the mounts, but eventually you'll run the transmission into the top of the tunnel.
