Title: fuel pump

Will an in tank fuel pump from a 1988 325i work in my 1991 318is?  I know it shows a different part number on Bavarian Motorsport but aren't the gas tanks the same.  I am guessing that it 325 pump may be higher volume, but I don't think that should matter much.  Help or guidance?

EuroNation used a different pump in an E30 M42. I'd PM him for info.
