Sorry if this is a duplicate post. I tried last night to post, but did not see it under the engine – driveline section.
Anyone had their timing cover profile gasket blow again after it was replaced under dealer warranty?
On my 1991 M42 I have a very slow coolant leak that is dripping off one of the lower bolt of the A/C mounting bracket only after running the car. No pressure it does not leak.
I have yet to pull the A/C pump and bracket off, however I am thinking that it is the profile gasket. The timing cover profile gasket was changed under warranty at 50,000 miles and the car is now sitting with 185,000 miles.
My leak is really slow and not as bad as in this picture, but I found this post – second picture in this post that is similar. I have only one drop coming off the middle A/C bracket mounting bolt http://www.m42club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12117&highlight=profile+gasket
Based on the above post it is leading me to believe it is this profile gasket failing.

Anyone have the profile case fail a second time or a coolant leak coming from under the A/C?

Double post, yes.
Start by degreasing the engine. It will drastically help you narrow the source of the leak. Your profile gasket could be the issue, or thermostat, or the water pipe under the intake. Hell, it could be a hose.
Some help here (http://www.mesaperformance.com/faqs/318tcpg.html) and here (http://timthurber.com/tcpg.htm)

Mine had a slight leak like yours and it turned out to be the water pump.

I don't get how an inner gasket leak will result in an outer leak??!
