Title: What to Look for Underneath Valve Cover?

As title suggests, I am going to be taking off the valve cover on my M42 to replace the gaskets so I was wondering what problems to look for. Thanks in advance!

Sludge.  Uneven wear on the cam lobes.  Very late responses on this bb...
