anyone know why # 4 and # 24 are both needed for turn signal, when i have a 15 amp in both slots the # 4 blows and the turn signals stop working.
But when i leave # 24 slot empty and put fresh 15 amp in # 4, the turn signals work. The car came with a low end after market alarm, i wonder if that would be causing the short?

one thing worth checking out is your hazard switch ie fuse number 24 if that things keeps shorting the fuse for whatever reason and gets no power niether will the turn signals

yes, # 24 is shorting out # 4 fuse constantly. your right, this disables turn signals. i am now leaving # 24 slot empty, to enable turn signals to work. I discovered that hazards will not work unless you have 15 amp in # 24 slot. Im certain that the after market car alarm is causing this problem.

Is there a parking light blinker on the alarm? You might be right...the transistor in the alarm that blinks the lights is usually wired into the emergency light switch. If it died it could short the emergency light circuit. Can it just be pulled? I know the stock BMW Alpine can. That's pretty high on my to-do list for old BMWs I buy. Those alarms never last.
