Title: Bosch Yellow book for Motronic
Post by: Ramblin MAn on September 26, 2006, 11:01:15 PM
Anyone have the Bosch Yellow book for Motronic in a .pdf or have any of you guys read any of the aftermarket books on Bosch and can recommend one? I have the yellow book on LH Jetronic, pretty high level and not a lot of speciffics but it's better than nothing. I want to understand what the ECU is looking for from the sensors and what it will do with the info when it gets it. Speciffically the way the air flow meter and TPS work together.

I do not have what you are asking for, persay, but I can tell you what it uses those inputs for.

The throttle tells it a couple things:
1) whether to use idle maps, part throttle acceleration/coasting maps, ot full-throttle maps
2) it is part of the engin eload calculation which is an integral part of the fueling & spark maps

The AFM tells the ECU the ambient air temperature and volumetric flow rate of air into the motor.  From these it calculates the mass flow rate and uses as the primary input for the load calculation.
