Title: intake swaps
Post by: chapellej on January 12, 2011, 10:58:03 PM
can you swap any e30 m42 intake parts to the e36 m42? i want to do this as the elbow intake is restrictive in airflow as i have been told.

You mean the air flow meter and plumbing?

I would think the computer would get a tic upset with the wrong meter...

Practical thought:
I can't picture the difference being worth the issues of making it all continue to work. Throttle position sensor would be just the start of the mayhem...

tinkerer Point of view:
Good thing to investigate, But the older BMW manifolds were not very balanced, the guys I know that race old tech all ditched the old BMW manifolds for the newer,, Hmmm ,, I wonder if an extrude hone on the E36 manifold would turn the tables.
Not as cheap though!.

Let everybody know if it works....
