Title: Hi...bought one on 9/21/06.
Post by: edhchoe on September 24, 2006, 12:25:44 AM
It's white.  169K miles.  Paid $2550.
Changed engine, tranny, diff oil.  All three were black. :( At least the car's in good hands now until it gets buried.
Brake fluid and coolant flush are next.  left rear wheel bearing is bad...soon to be replaced.
Oil is leaking somewhere.  Probably I should replace all the gaskets.... diff, engine oil pan,... should I get the head gasket replaced?  I don't know.  where can I get the compression test done?  Do you do it at home?
Has any of you disabled power steering?
I am sure I can come up with a dozen more questions at least....:)
Thanks.

compression test can be done at home, you need the tool though. The M42 is known for it's profile gasket failure but at that mileage I assume it most of been replaced. What's your question about the powersteering?
