e30 luck is looking for a transmission.  Is it still in the car?  I can get you his number if you like.  Cincinnati is a haul from Pgh though.

I pulled the engine/trans last weekend, so it is ready to be parted.  I can take some photos if he is interested.  PM me the number and I'll give him a call.  I can definitely use a little bit of project money as I have quite a few items left to buy to get mine running :)

Hey I'm in cincinnati and I'm trying to get my 91 318is back on the road. I need the lower timing chain cover, chain guides possibly, timing chain tensioner, radiator if you decide to part with it. Or if you have any leads on a low mileage motor near us that would be cool too.I had my chain jump a tooth at 127k and bent 15 valves. Im at 147 and the timing tensioner went out and the chain wore a hole in the lower timing cover.

I thought i replied but it never showed up. I live in cincinnati (near northside) and im trying to get my 91 318is back on the road. My timing chain tensioner failed so i could use one of those as well as the lower timing chain cover (the chain slapped a hole in the cover) i don't think it jumped any teeth luckily. If you wanna part with the radiator i could use another. Or if you have any leads on a good motor that would be great as well.
Thanks

Hmm...I'll have to look at this because the timing chain snapped and I'm not sure what was damaged.

No, I'm fixing the 318i up to use as a daily driver and what I have listed here for sale are extra parts

I'll ship if the costs are paid for, and I still expect to make some money for it.  But I'd say depending upon where you want it shipped the expense of doing that would probably not be worth it.  I would drive within 2 hours of my house (40 miles north of Cincinnati) to deliver if that is an option.  PM me if you want me to get a quote.

I'm looking to clean up the garage so I can work on my neon to get it back out this year.  I still have most parts listed in the original post.  Make offers on whatever you need.  I'd like to get the bottom end, head, and transmission gone because it takes up the most space.  I'm willing to drive up to 2 hours away from Middletown, Ohio to deliver any parts where shipping isn't feasible.  Please email me at dunnybaby69 (at) yahoo.com - this goes directly to my phone and I can respond quickly.  Thanks in advance!

Hi Dunny,

The head is still available.  I have not inspected it other than visually.  I have a friend who has a machine shop where I may be able to have it looked at, but I'd have to pay for that (maybe not full price but something), so I've not really wanted to move forward until I had a serious buyer.  Send me an email at dunnybaby69 at yahoo.com and I can take some photos and email them to you.

EDIT - keep in mind, the timing chain broke on the previous engine so the valves are no good...well, maybe some of them are but i know at least 4 of them clearly made contact with the pistons

So I have 3 potential buyers for the bare head. I want $125 my part, buyer pays shipping. I'm having it professionally cleaned and inspected tonight. I'll post photos when it's done. First money sent to my PayPal gets it, I want these parts gone to recoup some garage space!!!

It's amazing how many people have contacted me regarding various parts, yet not a single person has actually purchased anything!  It's not pricing either, but most of the time they end up not needing the part or find it closer to home....this place is tougher to sell parts than the cheap folks over at neons.org (me being one of them!) :D

I'd really like to move the transmission, bottom end, and head out of my garage.  I'm willing to separate parts too rather than selling everything complete.  Anything else I don't really care since it doesn't take up much space.  If you have interest send me an IM or email.  I'm also looking for struts/springs (bilstein/hr combo) for my '91 318i so would be up for a trade

Anyone need a crank?  Rod/pistons?  Starter?  Let me know!

I've had some additional interest....but again lack people actually buying anything.  I need to get rid of this stuff :)  I just bought another neon to build for the ChumpCar series and so random M42 parts around the garage are in the way.  The block/pistons/crank and transmission are the two items I really want to move.  If you have any interest touch base with me and we can work something out.

Hey, I resemble that remark!:D

I did find a crank closer to home, but I'll be needing one farther down the road. How is the thrust bearing surface on this crank? Also interested in crank/cam sensors and temp sending units.

Check with AzNVi3t2007 - I never took down the serial number, but I know for a fact it came from a '91 M42 powered 318i sedan (which I currently drive).  I had it cleaned and checked for straightness (which it was fine) but never pressure tested....AzNVi3t2007 had it into a shop but I don't know what was done.  Message him and find out...I'm just trying to help him sell it since it didn't work out for his application :)
