Title: Dashboard strippin'
Post by: Euro Nation on September 22, 2006, 05:23:13 PM
Everyone calls me weird for finding the stuff to make this possible, but I like it. And they can't steal a CD player if I don't have one.

Do you not have any tunes or is it behind that panel?

No tunes. It all started with a Rabbit I had that came with a full factory radio delete. Ever since then I've been fascinated by the idea. It really doesn't bother me to not have tunes. Even in my cars that have CD players I find myself driving around with them turned off.

So where did you get the material to make the cover plate?

Material? :D

There's a BMW part number on the back of it. Factory radio delete plate. Oh yeah... no more OBC either.

I see, thought you made the plate yourself.

Item 3 here? (http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=AF93&mospid=47305&btnr=65_0027&hg=65&fg=05)

Do you have the part umber for that? It doesn't look like it referenced in the link. I want to do the same thing. Do you have a part number for the A/C switch delete panel? Looks good!

Found both! Items 10 & 11

Looks like dealership time on Monday for me!

Does anyone know if they make the kick panels near the floorboard without the cutout grille area for the speakers?

The A/C blank panel is the same as the ones above the radio (the four switches: hazards, etc).

What models had that analog clock?

I don't know what models, I bought it on ebay. You can splice a plug from power mirrors to get power, the plus end is a perfect fit for the clock.

the M3 i think i got mine off ebay also, i spliced into the old clock plug so it still gets light and everything just like the factory clock. i think it only cost like $15 to, just type in "E30 clock"{ in ebay.

Anyways the radio delete looks clean!

It was a standard option on every European 318I-318IS-320I-320IS-325I-325IS. Only 316I did not have it, because there was a huge clock instead of tachometer (except 316I Bavaria model). M3 models did not have it. I suppose all european facelift models had it. I used to own a 1983 320I and it had a digital clock which i replaced with this analog one. It was a direct bolt-on job.
