Hello all,
I have read some topics about this but there is no one who really answers the question, does the E36 M42 intake fit in a E30 ( 316i in my case ) ?
Some people say it doesn't clear the hood, but no one confirms this.
Some one else told me the intake won't clear the brake booster.
Can somebody help give a clear answer on this topic so it will done with for good ?
Blessings

It clears the hood, but it doesn't clear the brake booster.
Out of my own experience...
-
oh ok, so I need to relocate the brake booster ?
Do you have or could you take a picture from below your hood so I can see how you fixed that problem ?
-
It clears both the hood and break booster, atleast in a lhd using M40 mounts and brackets. (should be the same with M42 E30 mounts and brackets)
-
ok thanks for clearing that up.

I have the E36 m42 in my RHD E30, replacing a M40.. it clears both the hood and the stock brake booster...

I also have the E36 m42 in my E30, replacing a M40.. it clears both the hood and the stock brake booster..using the M20 engine mounts (the tall ones) and M40 e30 brackets

How much difference is there in the M40 and M42 e30 mounting arms? ETK shows different P#'s.
