I'm trying to drain the coolant from my block. According to the Bentley manual there is plug behind cylinder 4. In the picture below I pointed to the plug that I think should be the coolant drain. I took it off, but it's completely sealed. What I mean by that is that I took the plug off and theres just a 'metal wall' behind it. There's no drain there.
Could the coolant drain have been eliminated on late m42's? Or maybe I'm just unpluggin the wrong one?

i believe the plug is behind block passenger side facing firewall. you can feel for it behind block facing firewall.

That is the block drain plug. Stick a screwdriver in there and poke through all the crap thats built up in there.

Got it!! Yeap that was it. Took quite a bit of pressure, but finally my screwdriver got through...lol
It's amazing how hard that accumulated crap gets after 19 years of never been properly drained. It literally felt like a solid metal wall...
Sprayed some PB Blaster in there to try and get rid of the rust build up inside the block. Will finish flushing it really good tomorrow.
Tks guys...
