Title: How to remove expansion tank... bolts off, but stuck
Post by: Haraise on December 01, 2010, 05:40:52 PM
Hello,

Searched here and r3v for how to get this expansion tank off, but not finding anything. It's leaking, so I was going to check it out and maybe just RTV it back on, but I can't get it off! Don't you just pull up once you have the top bolts and cover off?

Thank you!

What for you are trying to do this? If it is because of leakage it waste of money and time better replace all radiator. But I heard from one guy that he was lucky to seal it with car windshield glue. Simple O-ring replacement does not help in this situation, because radiator and expansion tank are misshapen and do not align properly to seal connection with O-ring. Sealant does not help also.

p.s. I was using two screw drivers like leavers to pull it out.

Yeah, I think I'll just go with the Mishimoto radiator and 325 expansion tank... just need to get some questions answered about the swap, posted on a thread in the engine and drivetrain section. Thank you.
