Title: Oil in Spark plug holes? Valve head gasket?
Post by: n.wesl on November 28, 2010, 04:44:02 PM
I did the COP conversion today and discovered my spark plugs are covered in oil. It's not a little either. When I stick a towel down in the hole it comes up dripping. Cleared it out enough to have the spark plugs not be covered but what's causing this? Is it the "valve head gasket"? If it is how do I replace that? Thanks

Check your valve cover screws. Might be loose. Don't over tighten or you will strip thread on head!...

So I checked them today. About 6 of them seem to be stripped out. Uh oh. Tightened the others down though and seemed to show an improvement.
