im planning an oil change, gonna try try shell t6 rottella 5-40, this is a diesel oil, is that ok ??

Yes!!
It's one of the most popular choices for out engine. Especially on this forum. I think the reason for this (besides being a good quality and fairly cheep option) a petro chemist said this is the oil he used in his M42. I did a quick search and wasn't able to find the original post. Do a search for "Shell Rotella" you may find it but you will find a ton of people that use this oil.
Don't be scared off by the "Diesel" part. Mostly it only means it has extra additives for improved cleaning. You will often see this oil referred to as HDEO (heavy duty engine oil) that way people don't think its only for diesel motors.

i found out that the t6 version is even better for gas cars than the previous version.
