Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that I have my fire damaged (only the rear of the car was damaged) E30 318i up on eBay. I rebuilt its M42 with JE pistons, Pauter Machine chrome moly forged rods, ceramic coatings etc etc. Its controlled with a Haltch E6k programmable ECU, has a custom intake with four TWM 48mm throttle bodies and a custom carbon fiber dash with Autometer guages including air fuel ratio.
If anyones looking for a project car or just needs some of the parts this is a bargain.
Anyway its item #320617756247, no reserve and its at $250 right now, ending Friday evening.

That sucks. Sorry to hear about your loss. Can you get into some sort of insurance settlement? Against the other car or owner? Unless both were yours (been there, done that, don't want to do it again).
You should part that out if you don't get near $1k. I'm sure a few members here would go for those parts. The Haltech can be retuned for a different car too.
-
Yes, I'm hoping to get some sort of settlement from the other cars insurance. Just waiting for the Fire dept to complete their investigation.
If the winning bidder is mainly interested in the engine or chassis I might try to work out a deal where they pay me less and I get to keep the Haltech and gauges to sell separately
-
Oh damn . . . he's here in San Diego. "Honey, hide my wallet!!" :D
-
Yea wish I was in CA. Would be all over this. Did you make that intake setup or did you buy the setup somewhere??
-
I made the carbon fiber airbox, the manifold was custom machined/welded at a shop and the throttles and velocity stacks are off the shelf from TWM Induction. I'm going to miss it!!!
-
damn thats horrible.. firefighters didnt hold anything back. Thats a really sweet motor to man
-
Very nice work! Could the same be achieved from fiber glass for the airbox?
-
Yes fiber glass would work too. It would be easier too since you would be painting it and wouldn't have to worry about taking time to lay out the carbon fiber peices so it looks good with a clear coat.
-
pics or the link to the ebay listing plz
-
How did the car drive with the ITB's?
-
Shit!! I could have bought this as a Lemons car!!!
-
damn, hope you didnt sell it for that cheap

Nope, because Paul Q. and I bought it. The engine will live on in our next project which is already taking up space in my garage. Some of the parts (the dash for instance) will make it into our race car, but others will be sold like the Haltech and some of the gauges.

I saw you post somewhere yesterday that you were getting a sweet new carbon fiber dash and wondered if you had picked this up. Nice score and thanks for keeping me away from it. Those itb's were looking a little too tempting...

The car is now torn down and the next stop for the chassis is the scrap heap.
