Title: Euro sides and clears added
Post by: FL318is on September 19, 2006, 10:13:23 AM
Heres a couple of pics with the newest appearance mods.
1-I replaced the running light sides with the euros.
2-Also replaced the amber turn signals with clears and painted the amber bulbs with high temp silver.
3-On the front bumper segment where the tag frame goes, I plugged the holes with plastic caps.  Got the caps at a electronics surplus store for 40 cents.  Used clear silicone caulk to hold them in place.

I wish I could find them for the rear in the same style as OEM.  I think someone on the board may have a set.

bout a year ago on R3V someone was selling some tails just like stock but had clear instead of the amber turns.  They were hawt!!  They wanted like $400ish IIRC.  I just went smoked all the way around.  I like the clear look too though ;)

I like the smoke look.  I decided to paint (later) the black trim white so clears are the first phase.

BTW, why do some of the E30s have the side marker turn signal?  Mine is a 1991 as far as I know.

I added the repeaters, I like the look and the extra function to let dumb drivers know I am going to turn.  It helps stand out a lot, expecially at night.  I got the clears instead of the smoked ones to help w/ the contrast.  There are ones for the e30 that are slightly larger than mine, mine are off a e36/34...

The e36 ones are more slim than the taller e30 ones.

Good to see clears turn signals for a change.

FYI, bmp or bavauto sells front plate fillers as an alternative to the plastic caps. You're going to have to do some searching as I couldn't find it myself. Here's what it looks like (on Digitalwave's car)
