Title: FYI if interested-E30 M3 Project on "Two Guys Garage"
Post by: Colo318IS on October 27, 2010, 10:23:12 PM
...just throwing this out there in case anyone is interested....last week I happened to catch a couple minutes of "Two Guys Garage" on Speed Channel.  They were doing suspension upgrade on an E30 M3 as part of an overall project.

I believe they're gonna reair it this weekend late friday night/early sat AM and am assuming future episodes will cover other parts of the project in case anyone is interested...

Hmmm.  Sounds good.  Not sure I get that channel, but I'll try to check it out.

...you might be able to find a clip on you tube?  ...I did check their website, but all I could pull up was a promo clip.

So I did happen to dvr it, was on late friday night (2:30am).  Interesting project.  It's called the "LSM3"...they stuffed an LS Corvette V8 engine into it and worked on the suspension...not sure what future episodes will bring, but it was interesting and always neat to at least see an E30 be the subject of a car show....not something we typically get in the US.

Gah.  Too bad about the motor.  Corvette motors should stay in 'vettes or those Cadillac things.  With umpteen million 325e's running around, why chop up an M3, for crying out loud?

...yeah, I agree, I was honestly a little disappointed by that as well.  Oh well, was at least cool to see an E30 getting some air time!

Although I was glad to see an e30 on TV, why in the hell would you butcher a perfectly good M3? Are they using the M3 Drivetrain?... NO. M3 Suspension? ... NO. So what's the point?

They could have done the same transplant on any $500 junkyard special.

lol. make sure no one on s14 see's this. they might just hire a hit man!

i'm pretty sure that all of the "fab work" that they do can be reversed with enough money...so you guys should just get the panties outta your asses :D power is power, doesn't matter where it comes from. besides, isn't that car being built for track use?

I know right.

I'm debating an LSx motor as well. But that is way down the line. And only if an S motor doesn't fall in my lap somehow.
