Title: Rims
Post by: FL318is on September 18, 2006, 11:42:41 AM
I want to consider new 16"x7 rims. So far I like the Borbet but can't find out if they make them in a 16 with 4 lug.  Also curious if anyone has a set of 16s and what offset works.  Actually, what is the BBS stock rim offset?

Doesn't look good, Tire Rack only has them in 15x7 and 14x6

I think stock rims (both 14s/15s) are ET23

(I can hear the giant hand of 'correction' headed this way, however)

4-lug 16" rims are depressingly rare... maybe try http://tunershop.com or the wheel for sale classifieds at http://vwvortex.com/

:D Thats cool.  There are other, better looking rims but I was wanting something that is easy to clean.  I like the stock BBS but they are a PITA.  I like the mesh but not to clean.

I am open to possible options.  The Borbet are cheap.  I have the silver Beyern 5s on the E46.  They were pretty reasonable as I recall.  Suggestions?  I would like to get 16x7s regardless of which rim I choose!

I like the looks well enough to get them for my car.  Looks like 16x7.5" .  I would prob put the BFg KDWs on them.  Those babies grip like sticky velcro.

I am literally the last person on earth to ask about what chicks dig, but I'm guessing, no they wouldn't really dig the ronal bears...

I know charlie wants a set however...!

100% agree with you.

PITA, but looks good on classic BMW body.  I still think the Ronal LS 15x7" weaves are the best bargain out there for the older e30's.

Call Gary @ Ronal.

Don't let brake dust sway your decision. Depending on what kind of brake pads you use, you can get the brake dust off real good with PS-21, although it is a bit on the expensive side.

My rims are painted anthracite (aka, gun metal gray).  They blend very well with Hawk HP's brake dust, and have the ability to self-heal minor scratches :D
