MSD... anyone no of one that will work on our cars? Ive been looking and have found nothing for the m42.

you'd need one of their distributorless setups... DIS-2 or DIS-4.
i ran a conventional MSD on my first car (old toyota celica) and liked it, but for the price of the distributorless (high-$500s), i can't really say i think it'd be worth it... my $.02: get one of rob_e30's COP setups and call it good.

Thanks

The Stock BMW ignition is far superior to the MSD anyway IMHO
(Assuming the street units) I have towed way too many cars off
track with burnt out 6AL units...
Just another opinion,,, :)
I'd spend the money on a Coil On Plug kit similar dollars and it works very well.
