my 318ic had foam under the hood which has disintegrated need the insulation if anybody has one or has an idea where to get one.thx

Either buy that alu-backed stuff from a big box, or find a 325 with the OEM underhood cover. Fits right on, no mods required. Mine rubs the intake & valve cover just a bit.
Here's a few pics:

I have a spare if you're close to PA, but shipping would be murder for something that big.

You can order the 3 separate peices in a kit on http://www.pelicanparts.com
It is about $30 shipped, or $80+ shipped for the OEM BMW insulation.

It's only worth like $20 to me, but shipping is a killer. My brother lives in Charlotte, but I'm not sure I'll be down to see him for a while.

The one from the 325 is NLA according to my dealer. Guess I need to hit up the yards...
