Title: cam grind from delta cams questions
Post by: gundy318 on August 30, 2010, 06:52:24 PM
Hi I'm wondering if anyone out there has had their cams ground from Delta Cams in Tacoma. They offer two profiles, a mild and aggressive grind. I currently have the mild grind and a mark d chip but I'm thinking about going to the more aggressive grind. They recommend bigger injectors and tuning with the aggressive grind. Has anyone gone the aggressive route? And if so what are you doing for tuning? It would be great if the ECU could compensate for the cams but i think that might be wishful thinking. Any insight would be appreciated! thanks

What are their specs for mild and aggressive? How much are they charging?

I have a custom guy I could send you to. He is very reasonably priced and damn good.

Haven't used Delta Cams, but I used Web Cams, which is who Metric Mechanic uses.
I got their mild intake cam and am still able to pass CA smog, if that's important to you.

I talked to Delta a few months ago but decided not to spend money on cams right now. They had three options available at that time. I believe 264*, 272*, and 288*. Its been a while so you will have to double check. Either way, Im pretty sure you have more than two options. A few people around here have had delta regrind cams for their cars if you look around.

The ECU cant really even compensate for the mild cams. If you want to go to a more serious cam route you should really look into a standalone management system in my opinion.
