Title: BMW Premium Sound system, other bits & pieces
Post by: DesktopDave on August 29, 2010, 08:54:14 AM
Just picked up a loaded 325e for pocket change.

The car has a BMW Premium sound system with intact rear speakers and the little door wing tweeters.  There is no head unit, not sure about the crossover in the trunk or status of the wiring harness.  Anyone interested?

I could also pull the cruise setup if anyone is trying to add a system to their car.  I'll test it and report back.

If you can pull the tweeters without the little "stick" thingys breaking I'll take 'em!  If the tweeters work, that's a bonus.

I'll test them out & post pictures.  Might be a day or two before the car gets here.

Here's a few pictures of the victim.  I'm not sure if I should part her out.  I've never had a running automatic eta...bound to be a load of fun.  I think I'll try to 'flip' her to a new owner.  I'll keep the wheels, downgrade the interior and keep the good bits for myself.

List of projects:
Crank sunroof conversion
6-button OBC install
Plastic four-spoke steering wheel install
Cruise control removal
Fabric comfort seats to replace the tan leather sports & rear headrest/armrest bench seat
Restore toolkit
generic CD head unit with cheap speakers.
Overhaul brakes
Repair frame rust
Paint the car an ugly shade of silver or gray.

Am I missing anything?

So I'll entertain trades too.  I'm looking for US ellipsoids, decent fabric seat covers (OEM), map light mirror, slim sedan spoiler, muffler clamps & exhaust parts...the usual stuff.

Nice find!  You can go from "e" to "i" in a day with the right peices!  Good luck with a sale to a new enthusiast owner!

Sorry, you're entirely right.  I'd suggest an offer of $150 for the entire system...head unit, speakers, passive trunk crossover/amp if it works well.

But I'm really looking for a trade!  I'm looking for a chip, I'd trade straight up for a MarkD 91 octane or other reputable chip.

Who needs money when you have e30 parts?  And what's the difference between a Super and regular-strength Mod?

Dave, I'll soon have a set of US Elipsoids that I could trade you for all of the speakers, i.e. the tweeters, kick panel and rear deck. Whadda ya say? ;)

Hmmm.  Some good suggestions here.  I should have them tested today, even though it's 93degF.

Before our Texans bellow in protest, for a thick-blooded Yankee like me 93 is hot!

No idea, I guess you may have more administrative rights.
