Title: power steering hose leak
Post by: gravyface on August 28, 2010, 05:20:46 PM
Well, tried all sorts of MacGyver magic today: hose clamp and strip of
rubber glove, Seal-All, duct tape :D

Anyways, there's about a 1/4 inch slice in there (see pic) that's
squirting pink jizz all over when I turn the wheel.

Could I splice in a coupler with a couple of hose clamps?  Is this the
dreaded 150 dollar hose?  Any reliable patch ideas?

I'd just drain it.  The BMW P/S system is prone to leaking.  But, if you insist, take it to a shop that specializes in fork lifts or construction equipment repair.  It's just hydraulic hose, I'll bet it costs $30 out the door, tops.  Maybe do both sides?
