I recently purchased my first e30 318is and am having it painted in a week or two. I am considering painting the lower rockers the same color as the car (sterling silver) instead of black. Car is stock with no aftermarket rocker trim - just the textured black finish from the factory. Does anyone have a photo of this or thoughts on the matter?
Thanks in advance.

I'd do it. If you change your mind, get some iX rockers to cover it up. I have a red car and it just doesn't look right Photoshopped with matching trim, but silver/black or white seem to look better with that treatment.
If you have good suggestions for splash guards or mudflaps I'd be happy to hear about those.

Thanks for the reply. I'll check out the iX rockers too.

I wouldn't do it. I think it makes the cars look porky and silly. Now if you put proper side skirts on (not Taurus or imitation E36 M3 or whatever) it looks pretty nice with properly offset wheels. But with it colored just by itself, it looks horribly tacky in my opinion.
