Title: M42 issue
Post by: yak rider on August 13, 2010, 05:44:14 PM
after selling my 318is for more than i thought it was worth i realized i missed the heck out of it and have been searching for one that is not beat or rusted out or modded beyond recognition.  i've been looking for awhile but was wondering is there a mileage point at which to buy where the "profile gasket" issue would not be an issue.  i mean where the problem would have already been addressed or the car was not worthy?   100K?   i've seen a low mileage one but don't know if i should factor in the profile gasket fix as well.  thanks in advance.

first article of a google search.

also, the car you want to buy will have receipts/records of it having been replaced. good luck.
