Title: Upper/Lower Oil Pan Removal
Post by: rfritz on September 10, 2006, 06:08:53 PM
My lower oil pan gasket is leaking, so I went to the dealership and bought the upper and lower oil pan gaskets, filter housing gasket, dip stick and sensor o-rings. Since I am already going to take it apart, I thought I might as well replace all of it. Does anyone have any tips on this job. I read a thread about it here, but thought I should go ahead and ask just in case it wasn't covered. Thanks. BTW - New transmission will be finished this week from Zionsville Autosport. Every thing is coming together as planned.......

The lower is super easy. just remove all billion M6 bolts and drop it.  The upper is a bit more of a pain since there are a few horizontal bolts covered by the tranny bellhousing you will also have to raise the engine/lower the subframe to drop the lower pan out.

Have fun!!  BTW access to a lift is very helpful.
