Title: How much PAG oil for R134a conversion?
Post by: Joe Gilmore on July 11, 2010, 09:56:49 PM
I have the stock Nippondenso 10P a/c compressor on my '91 318is.  The only source I have found is this page

http://www.wrenchead.ca/pub/PAG_oils_application-05.pdf

that says 6 to 7 ounces of PAG 46.  That seems like a lot.  Can anyone confirm?

I'm pretty sure someone mentions it somewhere in my thread on it:  http://www.e30tech.com/forum/showthread.php?t=82528

Sorry I don't remember off the top of my head.

Found the reference in your a/c thread, turns out it was the same one I found elsewhere.  But what a bunch of great a/c info in your thread!  Thanks for the point.

No worries.  There is another one that may turn out to be just as good on converting to a parallel flow style condenser.  It's easy to find in the HVAC section of E30tech.  That is next on my list as mine isn't quite as cold as I would like and it is really cheap to do, just a bit of work.
