Title: junkyard parts
Post by: cyborgben on July 07, 2010, 01:00:12 AM
hi, first post, first m42, have a couple 325is projects in the barn. I am trying to make the m42 my dd. here are my questions

1 - what parts do not swap between different e30s? especially the converts? i am heading to the junkyard and know they just got a cleanish 325ic. i especially need the master cylinder, trunk lid and the uncracked dash.
2 - what "goodies" should i look out for? i know lsd and chin spoilers and untorn sport seats.... also saw a swaybar size chart....
3- what about commonly swapped stuff from non e30s? bigger rads? brake upgrades? rx7 calipers?
thanks in advance. and i did search, just couldnt find much.

welcome to the board!
interchangeability: i'd say most chassis parts swap easily, but nothing from engine+ tranny is a direct fit. the diffs and half shafts do bolt on. not sure on suspension though... but i do know that swaybars are a go.

non E30 stuff: volvo! volvo lip,E-fan, turbo, injectors (see mustang injector thread)

what i can think of for now.

thanks for the start.
i kinda know volovos too. 3 turbos in the barn!
are you talking 850 turbo or 700 series turbo? i had already heard about the elec fan.
back to the vert - are the fenders and side mirrors a match too?
thanks again.
