eaton m62:) i was hopeing to put where the ac was but it will hit the motor mount so now we are going to move the alternator there and should have lots of room in that spot
(http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx346/manchuk/bimmer/DSC01278.jpg)
im haveing a couple of custom v belt pulleys turned down from cold role i would have liked to keep the electric clutch but couldnt find a serpentine kit in time b4 the build got to this point and i would have never got the psi i wanted out of it

Wow, this is looking great, manchuk! I like the attn to detail on the motor, brackets and covers. Looking really sharp! Is that intake boot oem & red tape? Where did you pick up the head studs?
-
i got the head studs from top end performance along with the .120 head gaskets from cometics
and it is self fuseing silicon wrap on the intake boot, it makes a solid layer of silicone once it overlaps it self
-
I like the wrap. Keep the pics coming!
-
just got the fenders ill update later
-
Looks sick...I love motor builds :)

Is the silicone wrap tape similiar to this?...http://www.rescuetape.com/?gclid=CPGFicr7sqICFSZHagodKngS6A
-
Nice work men
-
yah its the exact same stuff as rescue tape the more layers u put on the thicker it gets , i actulaly screwed one piece ip and had to cut it off, and when i did it actually fused together so good it was solid silicone and couldnt be pulled off. ,,,,,,, dont buy rescue tape brand. look on ebay for self fusing silicone and people have it on there cheaper and in different widths as well but it is still expensive, but it does an amazeing job (900psi)
i even fixed a small hole in my pressure washer line
-
Everything looks great except for your cam gears which look pretty worn. Keep up the good work and keep posting pictures.
-
yah in that pictures they do look a little worn, but they are not, its actually becuase i started cleaning them around the edges and then thought they are just going to be covered in oil again, so when i took the picture the flash reflected off the teeth becuase they were shiney
-
Looks good. Very interested in this build please keep the info coming.
-
finished the mess under the intake delete today
(http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx346/manchuk/bimmer/DSC01297.jpg)
-
took the super charger apart that i bought off ebay it is in amazeing good shape..
im going to replace the needle bearings anyway just becuase they are so cheap and its apart anyways
(http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx346/manchuk/bimmer/DSC01309.jpg)
-
built the exhuast flange for the supercharger and started to grind the welds to inspect for holes and cracks to make sure it is air tight
(http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx346/manchuk/bimmer/DSC01315.jpg)

abandoning supercharger project goin turbo sorry for getting ur hopes up guys (TORBONETICS T3/T4 HYBRID)
Good decision.
p.s. "mess under the intake delete" that way IMHO is better, better head cooling, X-flow....

-ordered m50 manifold to cut last to cylinders off ,it seems very logical for the price.$115
-garrett airesearch t3 .42/.48 AR , i know its a little small but for 12psi and $150 i cant go wrong
-oil feed kit $40 (with psi reducer)
-oil drain parts $40 (fuck oil pan taps are expensive)
sold my supercharger for 450
so i bought all this and have a little bit left for trouble shooting
-
thanks for the input romkasponka, i was actually going to use those 2 points for water cooling the turbo i was looking at but, after getting the deal that i did on the turbo without water cooling im going to switch it over to the x-flow set up
-
my friend is going to portugal for the winter, where i had car stored and was being worked on..

Keep up the good work!
-

-
ok my fellow m42 junkies look what i did last night(http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx346/manchuk/bimmer/DSC01503.jpg)
-
thats beautiful dude
-
well i have been waiting for my turbo, oil feed line, and drain kit for about 2 weeks now , and just after i got home today , the ups guy pulled up, it was so exciteing!!!, well after jumping for joy, the fucking asshole delivered a package to my neighbour
-
so this is what i did instead
i cut open the whole accessory harness becuase the last time i drove the car was 5 years ago and i rember vagly that alot of stuff was starting not to work, i found 6 wires that where shorting and 2 that where completes cbroken in half(http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx346/manchuk/bimmer/DSC01512.jpg) as you can see i missed a spot with the bed liner(the red spots)(http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx346/manchuk/bimmer/DSC01513.jpg)
-
i need to grind out the tabs that held the abs unit in b4 i can do the touch ups i totaly forgot about them until i was spraying it on, that where i have to put the windshield washer container
-
and then i also relocated the afm and filter and extended the afm wires(http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx346/manchuk/bimmer/DSC01516.jpg)(http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx346/manchuk/bimmer/DSC01509.jpg) theres a little bit of rust ther, but ill get that in the spring ,when i can get it up on the hoist and respray all of the underbodey
-
turbo came today cleaned it up a bit it spins freely and has no shaft play lets hopethe seals are good(http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx346/manchuk/DSC01527.jpg)
-
well went to go start it for the first time today and the starter was siezed , i was actually able to take it apart and rebuild it on the spot, finally at 10.48 the car turned over and started instantly, i mean fucking instantly, i just wanted to here it after the com[plete rebuild. thanks frank you did a fucking awsome job giveing me a hand
-
Seems like a fairly inexpensive setup. What kind of engine management are you going to run?
-
well havn't been here for awhile boys but its mother fuckin turbo time biytches(http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx346/manchuk/DSC01543.jpg)
-
dont worry im going cop kit but i got it running off wires for now
i still cant believe i bought the garrett ta0301 turbo for 150 and it runs as good as it does,
but anyways here it is
-
no im not running a independant management!!!!!!!!!!!!!
bears bmw, bmw connect, midnight tuneing is going to hook me up with a custom ecu (#175) chip to get me running on #42 injectors to drive the car down to ottawa and then custom tune for 15psi from there , apparently that mother fucker knows his shit so he has advised me when im ready we will doo it , check out his vids on you tube
-
hey guys got my self into some trouble went too jail for 8 months and havnt had a chance to work on my bitch anyways im out now and will update the build hopefully
-
damn thats harsh. hope everything works out man. cant wait to see more pics of the car
-
it seems like a not so expensive build but i completly rebuilt the hole moter plus i added vac tefcoat bearing all around arp head studs and lowered the compression and used deves rings so its a little more than just makeing a junkyard turbo kit
yes i used a used turbo and did some fabricateing myself but i made the moter strong enough to jam 20psi down its throat if i want to in the future but for now ill stay at the 12psi that this turbo can handle so no it is not completly inexpensive becuase i prepared the moter for future hp
-
hey guys havnt done much too her still but noticed the turbo was leaking a bit of oil so i completly rebuilt it and changed the main intake boot ill post some pics shortly
-
Looks awesome! Great job
