Title: SI board battery
Post by: locknload on June 01, 2010, 11:00:44 PM
Does anyone know for certain if the SI board battery is on a charging circuit?  I've seen posts that say it is and some that say it isn't.  It seems that it would function the same as the CMOS battery in my PC, which is just there to hold what's in the memory and gets replaced every 5 years or so as it discharges, and is not charged.  Reason for asking:  I'd like to replace my dead one with a lithium CR123 photo battery, but don't want to risk something catching on fire from trying to charge a battery that isn't meant to be charged.

Also, will replacing the SI board battery stop my clock from going blank whenever I turn the key to start?
