Has anyone done a turbo m42 with an air to liquid cooling setup instead of air to air? Are there any pictures out there?

It's called a Chargecooler mate!

Depends how you use them. Theres a more high-tech version of the chargecooler now which is very efficient. Can't for the life of me remember what it's called.

I'm goign to go ahead and try this out. I'm making some intake manifold flanges and i'll probably be able to weld it together within a few months. I'll let you guys know how it works out. I'm also making some extras, so if there is any interest in a manifold with integrated air-to-liquid cooler, or just the intake flange, let me know.

What kind of car is this for? Street, drag, track? An air to water may be better for the first two. Track cars are usually better off with an air to air because of the constant high speed.

This is my daily driver. I know that the cooler will outperform any air-to-air setup on the street. Calculations must be correct for optimum heat exhange. The air-to-liquid setup on my m3 has been great. Very very reliable. After a few hard runs, you can literally touch the top of the manifold without burning the hell out of your hand.

i run a water to air set up !!! it will out perform any air/air intercooler as long as your heat exchanger and pump flows are set up to match your boost levels lot's of gain can be made ..

that pic looks as if they ran the stock radiator into the cooler if so thats totaling wrong there will be so much heat soak...it needs to be ran on its own heat exchanger ..it's only a pic so i might be wrong.. ok my bad that the pipe running off the charger ...
