Title: Starting problems - M42 won't start
Post by: P Zero on May 23, 2010, 05:41:46 PM
I installed an M42 in my car yesterday, and got it all set up to run today. However, I cannot get it to start. The engine has been sitting for about 2 years. It sounds like it fires on all cylinders once, then just pops and splutters. This happens every time I turn the key, each cylinder seems to fire once, then nothing.

The fuel pump is working and I have pressure. The firing order is correct. Everthing seems to be connected correctly.

Does anyone have any clue what's going on?

OK it was my own stupid fault. I did have the firing order wrong. It's because I've gone to coil-on-plug and got confused with the wiring loom.
