Title: My DASC install
Post by: nickmpower on May 23, 2010, 05:50:38 AM
It was quite the hassle to get this thing to fit. I converted the engine from v-belt to serpentine by changing the crank pulley, water pump pulley, and alternator. I am not running power steering so i had to figure out a way to route the belt that would work with my setup.

Because the belt goes right in the way of the dipstick I bought a dipstick from an e36 that is curved. I had to cut a few inches off of the bottom of the dipstick so that i could rotate the dipstick to clear the belt. I had to bend it slightly also.

I added a remote resevior for the brakes since the throttle body elbow hits it. I moved it to the firewall but then had to move it again when I installed my strut brace.

I eliminated the RRFPR that the stock DASC setup uses and tuned the fueling and ignition with tuner pro. Eventually i think I am going to upgrade to megasquirt in order to get rid of the airflow meter. As you can see I can only fit a tiny filter on the car as of now.
