my driveshaft is rubbing on something. It's pretty loud as it's louder than the engine. It seemed to be coming from the shifter area so i had a look under the car.
My findings:
- the back-up switch wire was rubbing and partially cut. fixed and tied back in place.
- my shift linkage is worn
- tranny is leaking
- traces of rubbing on the guibo
- clearance between the linkage and the guibo is pretty small... normal?
so my question is: what's rubbing??? could it be the linkage (no shifting problems, it's sloppy and somewhat notchy, but still very very drivable)
or is it the CSB that's beat?
if it's the linkage, how could it happen???
thanks!:confuse

anyone??? something is rubbing on the guibo... i think that its # 14. it has some loose in it but it doesnt have any bushing to take up the slack. engine and tranny mounts seem fine. CSB looks good. Guibo is still usable but started to show cracks.
help?!?!

That's a tough one. Are there any clean spots on your driveshaft that might indicate something rubbing?

clean, polished spot on the high points of the guibo. thinking on just rebuiling the entire driveline... short shifter, CSB, diff, small driveshafts.
