Where have all the decent 4 door m42 e30s gone? Are there any non-tracked, drift abused, out there anymore?
-
Nope. All used up. BMW only produced about 5000 4 door M42 powered E30s. All sold in the US and Canada. The vast majority of M42s went into 2 doors.

Be patient, they are out there, when I was looking I found 2 of them fairly local that were completely stock & never abused...& both were under $2K. Every 318is 2-door I found was modified and/or almost twice as expensive.

6730, supposedly.
I found mine a couple hours away from home with 117K on the clock for sale by the original owner for $2000. I looked around for a couple years and got lucky.

i have one, but its in horrible condition :( its a work in progress, tho. someday...

I have one, but 277K miles is a long way to go. They are pretty rare. I looked at three coupes before a sedan came along. I'd have bought the coupe if I had a choice. The sedans don't have nearly the same number of options. No sport interiors, no sport suspensions, etc.

Nope. I pretty much whored mine out. I have two bone stock coupes though. Sedans make better track cars because of the B pillar location.

OP where are you located? i have a a nice alpine four door that i might be persuaded to let go. it has a few "mods" like a drop and a muffler but i kept the stock stuff so you can easily switch it back. PM me for details
