Title: e36 remanufactured Cylinder head anygood?
Post by: Crazytek on May 15, 2010, 01:30:06 PM
Has anyone ever tried a remanufactured cylinder head?  I'm having a hard time finding a used one for my son's '94 318i.  I took it to a machine shop and they said the crack can't be fixed.  But isn't that what remanufactured heads are?

People part out M42s all the time.  Check the For Sale forum and post in Want to Buy [WTB] sections.

Depending where you are, I have a head off a e30 m42 around.  I haven't checked it out, I pulled it off a parts yard engine that I bought for the lower end.

It may be good, it may not.  But if you were localish it'd be free.
