Hello, people. I have an 89 318i M40 converted to M42, changed the whole wiring harness, engine, and all. I have restored my m42(had only 115000kms from junkyard) with all new gaskets, seals, rings, everything, lowered the head 0,1mm,full head/throttle porting, cold air intake(K&N) and advanced the admision 5 degrees.chassis with adjustbale konis, lowered 5cms, and MII factory bodykit, now I have bought on ebay an upgraded exhaust manifold,Front sparco strut bar, rear carbon/alluminum strut bar,and a chip claiming +16hp(152,6hp at 7150rpm). my question is, Will the admision advance interfere with the chip? any other suggested mods I can do to my engine? How about mustang injectors? any real gain on these besides better atomization?
Thanks guys.

Someone here (and others) will have the answers! Personally, I just break stuff!

What the chip does is advance the timing, so I think it might interfere yes. But i'm no expert.

Ditto lol atleast you admit it:cool:
And i think Silverblades is right but I also am no expert
P.S. Sorry for the worthless post

admission advance? what do you mean, you've advanced the inl cam timing or what?

After few experiment on on desktop dyno 2000 I retarded (it's opens and closes later) as much as it posible my inlet cam and now I have poor torq under 4000rpm, but much better on high rev.
p.s. you can throw out your rear strut bar, because there will be more advantage in weight reduction but not in handling. As I know strut bar works only in McPherson suspension..
