Title: New 318ic owner question
Post by: aworthybrother on April 22, 2010, 02:33:14 PM
This might sound weird but I am just wondering if the e30 318i/ic comes with a power door lock?  I have a 1992 cabrio and I do not have power door locks.  Thanks.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think on some cars power locks were an option, but I'd think that a vert would have them being a higher model.  If you do have them and they're not working, check the harness connection between the drivers door and the body, I've seen a few that get mangled over time and cause the central locking system to stop working.

I have a 92 vert with power locks. I'm pretty sure that they were standard with the car as I don't remember them on the list after checking the VIN.

Check the microswitches on the door locks.  They fall off the clamps and stop working.  I'd assume that any iC has them.

According to my info the (M42) 318ic came standard with power locks, as did the 318is and 318i.

Where should I look for the clamps? Do I need to remove the door panel?  Thanks.
