Title: Cylinder head bolt thread spec?
Post by: wannam42 on April 06, 2010, 03:10:20 PM
I've done the mandatory search and I can't find it the info so here goes:

Are head bolts M10x1.50 or M10x1.25 or what? Realoem only says TORX which isn't helpful at all. :(

I'm asking because I'd like to chase the threads prior to installing new bolts and in case I strip the threads, I can get the right timesert kit.

EDIT (again):

ECSTuning.com (http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E30-318is-M42_1.8L/ES8640/) has it wrong. Upon closer inspection, seems M12x1.5x110 is for a VW Passat B5.

I think it's M10x1.50 now because of http://www.timesert.com/html/bmw.html
