I'm getting ready to replace the profile gasket on my 318is and had planned on buying the Torx Socket tool from BMW. I had forgotten the part number so started to search online and came across one at Sears.com for half of what it costs through BMW.

Good tool to have if you work, or plan to work, on your m42 yourself.

You can get a complete set from Mac or Matco for around $80 and you will have all the sockets to do the head and trans too.

I was under the impression that a typical torx socket will not work without grinding down the outside diameter.
