Title: alternator regulator

i need to replace my voltage regulator, does an one kno if i can buy the brushes by it self or well i have to replace the whole regulator??? please help car stranded and needing to fix allready, and does any one kno a good place to get the part depending what i need?

The armature, which is where the brushes ride just inside the regulator opening, is trashed in the photos in the above link. If yours is grooved deeply like this you need to replace your alternator, or the armature will soon separate into pieces likely damaging your newly purchased regulator/brush assembly. I actually see this quite often with the Bosch alternators that the Thermo King refrigeration units I work on have in them.
